A Few Plugs
MissItalianCutie has been listening and watching a few memorable pieces of entertainment recently and i have decided to give them all a little plug....so that u can share in the quality i have come to love:
ColdPlay LIVE 2003 dvd/cd set
This mellow english band have released a couple of sensational albums, firstly Parachutes with such classics as Yellow and Shiver, and then the more recent (and my fav) A Rush Of Blood To The Head with my alltime track Clocks and a work of art God Put A Smile Upon Ur Face. Now bought the Live 2003 set which was awarded 2003's best DVD.....unbelievable!!!!!!!!
Robin Williams Live In New York
This has been a fav for a while after my WilliamsF1 introduced it to me....it is not ur typical williams humour....slightly offbeat and full of adult content...its political, sexual, confusing, racially diverse and athletic. Certain to have u experiencing breathing difficulties or at the least a giggle here and there....
Eddie Murphy Delirious and Raw
This is Eddie pre SNL days...he is young, sexy and as appropriately titled raw. Today eddie has sold out and no longer has the sharp razor edge of comedy that he possessed in his younger years.... Delirious focuses more on stabs at each stereotype (funny wog skit), and raw is more based on womens' train of thought (whatever that is!)...Quite confidently MissItalianCutie's comedy bible...
The Late Show Champagne Edition
Now this is comedy in its prime!!!! The team of Australian skit/stand up comedians include Mick Molloy, Tony Martin, Rob Sitch, Santo Cilauro, Jane Kennedy, Tom Gleisiner and Judith Lucy....now if u know none of the names above then u need ur heads examined...this select group is the backbone of Australian comedy! It is a random selction of skits from the early 90's series that somewhat resembles earlier full frontal but ALOT better! Classic segments include Shitscared, Graham and the Colonel, Understanding wogs and the opening segment.
Wild Gold Album
The dance classics essential! I think it was brought out in 2003 and is a 3 cd set filled with every dance song that has stuck thru the times....Classics everyone knows like sandstorm and better off alone (which i think everyone had the ringtones for), silence, children, the launch, heaven, broken bones, sing it back, starlight, lady and a personal fav hide u. Even if u arent a dance fan this is still an essential party album to have!
Radiohead Ok Computer Album
Now this is an album that has never gotten old, one that never leaves the cd player for long, and is certainly loved by anyone with an appreciation for music.... Such epic tracks as Karma Police, Paranoid Android, No Surprises and an emotional song for me Exit Music For a Film. This is a dark mellow rock album with somewhat of an electronic flavour to it. The new Radiohead is good but i dont believe lives up to this album. Definately not something to listen to wen recently broken up.
Head On
This is an Australian film that DaGreekGoddess exposed me and OMGThatSmile to about a week ago. It is a basic film in terms of SFX but is brilliantly made in my opinion. Slightly art house but still quite mainstream. Its controversial but does face alot of the issues that are out there and doesnt sugar coat it at all. Stars Alex Dimitriadis (any female out there over the age of around 16-18 will share my past obsession with this heartbreak high stud) and is all about a gay greek/australian and his battles with teen angst. I ofund it easy to relate on the cultural aspect of things and prepare urself before as he is in some more than graphic scenes....
Speaking of Heartbreak High....does anyone else miss that show as much as me???
I thought it was brilliant and didnt miss an episode! Can u remember how they left it wen it was the last day of skool and Drazic proposed to Anita....that had me crying wen the whole skool watched her say yes....please ABC bring back this one australian drama that i can stand!!!!! Not that it will ever be the same without the same crew...but still!!!!! Please!!!!!!!
Alrite well there's a list of the few masterpieces that have caught my eye, go out and find them and hopefully more of u will agree with me....
